Hyatt’s New “For Kids By Kids” Does Not Disappoint

My family just got home from a quick overnight trip to our local Hyatt – the Hyatt at the Bellevue in downtown Philadelphia. (Review coming soon!) The main purpose of our visit was to check out the new “For Kids By Kids” Menu that Hyatt launched this summer. Everything on the menu was tasted by Haile Thomas, the 11-year-old host of the online cooking show, Kids Can Cook.

We had breakfast off the menu this morning and my kids loved it. You can tell that the food choices were definitely selected by a kid because they were appealing foods. And everything on the menu was healthy and obviously inspired by some health-conscious adults!
We dined for breakfast at the Bellevue’s crown restaurant, XIX. Set on the 19th floor, the kids loved the views while munching on the delicious food!

Of course Cole had fun coloring and playing with the activities on the menu while we waited for the food to come:


My kids love smoothies so they were all over getting the Strawberry-Banana smoothie.  Cole’s comment, “Mom, there’s chunks of real strawberries and bananas in here!”


The delicious pancakes came with three types of syrup – regular maple, strawberry syrup and mango!


How fun is the Make Your Own Taco breakfast?  These options for “toppings” came along with a tortilla that was filled with scrambled eggs.


My eight year old went with cheese only but typical to my five year old, he went with almost every topping there was and loved it!


From Hyatt’s website, here are some of the menu options:

  • Breakfast: Top Your Own Taco, a whole wheat tortilla filled with scrambled eggs, cheese and fun toppings; Waffle Dipping Sticks with peanut butter, maple syrup and fruit sauces.
  • Lunch:  Shaken  Chopped  Salad with roasted  chicken,  vegetables,  brown rice and yogurt basil dressing; Build Your Own Whole Wheat Sub Sandwich with turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese on a whole wheat mini-sub. (These offerings are also available during dinner hours).
  • Dinner:  Natural  Beef  grilled  and  served  with  potatoes,  roasted  vegetables and  garden  salad; Vegetable and Sesame Rice Noodles with marinated tofu, corn, green beans, basil and cherry tomatoes.

Definitely two thumbs up to Hyatt for the new kid-friendly healthy menu.  We’ll definitely be dining and staying there again!
