Don’t Leave Home without Your Amusement Park App!

When we hit Disneyworld back in April, I was all about the My Disney Experience App.  I hadn’t heard of it but while waiting in line to get into Epcot, saw a little ad for it and I did a quick download.  It was our saving grace!  The smart phone app includes all sorts of goodies like a park map but the best part – wait times on all of your favorite rides.  There’s nothing more frustrating than hiking across half of a big park to get to the ride you were planning on going on, only to find out there’s a 2 hour wait time.  We used the My Disney Experience App a ton the days we were there.  Talk about easy!  You just whip out your phone, use the app to see the current status at various rides and you can plan accordingly.  It’s free!

So when we were in Hersheypark yesterday, my only regret is that it took me half a day to check the App store to see if there was one for Hershey Park.  Hershey very frustratingly does NOT have wait times posted like Disney does in front of each ride.  We’d get to a ride, see a line but have no clue how long the wait was.  (Maybe they do have it listed somewhere but for the life of us, we could not figure it out on any of the rides we went on.)

About halfway through the day, I thought to look in the App store for a Hershey app.  Of course there is one.  You can download the Hersheypark app for free and it constantly updates with wait times, plus gives you a little descrip of each ride including the height requirements.

Once I downloaded the app, our day went so much more smoothly! We based where to go on the wait times and waited in a lot less lines than we had earlier in the day.

The bottom line is – if you are visiting your local amusement park, or traveling to Disney or Hershey, be sure to download the apps!  Having the ability to see the wait times from anywhere in the park is so huge and saves so much time and annoyance.

Here are some other biggies that have apps:

Universal Studios

Sea World

Busch Gardens

Legoland Florida and Legoland California
